Additional Utility Rebates and Local Assistance
Thurston County homeowners may qualify for additional savings based on their electric utility, existing heating system, household income, selected equipment, and contractor. Each program has separate eligibility and installation requirements.
PSE Electric-Resistance Conversion Rebate
Qualifying Puget Sound Energy electric customers may receive a rebate when replacing electric resistance heat with an eligible ducted or ductless air-source heat pump.
Eligible existing systems may include electric furnaces, baseboard heaters, wall heaters, cable heat, and electric hydronic systems. Installation must be completed by an eligible PSE contractor and meet current equipment requirements.
PSE Heat Pump Replacement Rebate
Qualifying PSE electric customers may receive a rebate when replacing an eligible existing heat pump with a new high-efficiency heat pump system.
The existing equipment and replacement system must meet PSE eligibility, efficiency, contractor, and installation requirements.
PSE Efficiency Boost
Income-qualified PSE customers may be eligible for an increased rebate on certain qualifying heat pump conversion or replacement projects.
The Efficiency Boost amount may replace the standard rebate rather than being added to it.
PSE Income-Qualified Gas-to-Electric Rebate
Income-qualified PSE customers who currently heat their homes with natural gas may qualify for a rebate when switching to an eligible electric air-source heat pump.
PSE Heat Pump Water Heater Rebate
PSE electric customers may qualify for a $1,000 standard rebate or a $1,100 Efficiency Boost rebate when installing an approved Tier 3 or Tier 4 electric heat pump water heater.
This incentive applies to water-heating equipment and is separate from the Daikin space-heating incentives listed above.
Energize Thurston Grant Program
Thurston County households earning less than 120% of the county's area median income may qualify for grant funding covering approximately 80% to 100% of eligible equipment and installation costs.
The Energize Thurston Grant Program is scheduled to open to new applications in October 2026. This separate assistance program has its own application process, funding availability, equipment requirements, and installation schedule.
